New Regulations have commenced in Victoria and this means Pool and Spa owners now need to have a current Certificate of Swimming Pool/Spa Barrier Compliance on record with Council at all times in future, conducted by a VBA Registered Inspector.
Melbourne is home to 1.8 million households, of which 9% are currently believed to have swimming pools or spas - all requiring Certification by the Council due dates. We suggest confirming the availability of your preferred time-frame with us now (including moving into mid/late 2021) - or completing your Inspection process earlier.
The new Regulations state that your local Council will determine under which Australian Standard your Pool/Spa will fall under, determined by the original date of construction. There is currently five Australian Standards, with the added possibility of the Permit history on your property affecting your relevant Standard. The Inspection process may not be straight forward and care needs to be taken to ensure the correct requirements are in place and documents for Council are also correct.
° Register you pool/spa with Council if you haven’t already done so
° Your Council will advise under which Standard your pool/spa will fall under
° Care needs to be taken to ensure correct documents are provided to Council
